CENTRAL IDEA: Forces and energy may be converted, transferred and used to support humankind. Choose two DESIGN PROJECTS from here. HOMEWORK TASKS FOR HOW THE WORLD WORKS A choice of design tasks will be linked to your class homework page. Please choose two to work on over the next four weeks. You may also choose to do the Building Your Own Rollercoaster Design Task as one of your tasks. Here is the link to the rollercoaster webquest. Students who choose to write a SPEECH for the class speech contest may select ONE design task instead of two. The speeches must be either persuasive or entertaining - not a basic informative speech. In Week 4, we will find a time to listen to your speeches and then select two students who will present their speeches at Manuka team level. Work on your design task in weeks two and three and your speech in weeks three and four. WEEK 1

WEEKLY ROUTINE 1. Current Events Quiz (Extra for Experts)
Quiz is due on Friday (unless Friday is a Tech/Arts day, then it is due Thursday). Here is Term 4 Week 6's Quiz 2. Spelling Refer to the Spelling Tab for each week's lists and spelling tasks. Each week's spelling words will be put up by Monday and you will have to complete all the tasks before the spelling test on Friday. Any unfinished spelling tasks are due the following Monday for homework! Spelling test every week. 3. Maths Buddy / Maths Whizz Aim for 90 minutes per week Assignments due each Monday Maths Whizz students must do 60 minutes of Tutor Mode and 30 minutes of Replay Mode, not vice versa. 4. Basic Facts By the end of the year, you should be able to achieve at least 85/100 for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Make flash cards, use speed skills on maths buddy or see Miss Kim for some other ideas. There are also many basic facts practice apps for your devices! 5.
